Congratulations Wrestling Team

The Itasca Wrestling Team delivered a historic performance at the National Qualifiers, setting a new school record with an impressive 10 out of 10 qualifying for the National Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Many teams are not able to even fill the 10 maximum weight classes, yet your Itasca Vikings have over 26 current wrestlers at Itasca and were able to enter 10 for the National Qualifier. This achievement of qualifying all 10 not only demonstrates the exceptional talent and dedication of the team but also highlights their dominance in the regional qualifier, surpassing all other teams in the region for the number of qualifiers. Among the standout performances, Logan Harel at 125 pounds emerged as a force to be reckoned with, going a perfect 3-0 on the day and securing the title of Region Champion with all wins by pinfall. Additionally, Treytin Byers showcased his prowess at 174 pounds, going undefeated with two pins and a lightning-fast technical fall in the finals (under a minute and a half), further solidifying Itasca's dominance on the mats.
